Extended Stay at the Mayo

Spent a solid NINE days in the hospital and damn does it feel good to be home.

Not going to lie. These past 9 days SUCKED. A LOT. There were tons of tears, frustration, and sleepless nights.

Spiked a gnarly fever that I couldn’t get rid of that earned me an extended stay at the Mayo. That led to tons of tests: Brain MRI, Neck MRI, Chest X-ray, Chest CT, EKG, Echocardiogram, Cardiac MRI, Spinal Tap, bloodwork, bloodwork, and more bloodwork. I had a Pulmonary team, a Cardiology team, an Oncology team and an Infectious Disease team all the case and no one could quite figure out what was causing my fever. All of these tests kept coming back negative.

No one believed it was a reaction to Immunotherapy because I only had one treatment and it was “too soon”. Well guess what, b!tches, according to ALL these new scans I’ve had, everything is already shrinking! Doctor told me I’m in the less than one percentile with my success with treatment to date. Over achiever, per usual ;)

I also might have Valley Fever Meningitis, but we’ll get back to that later. I’m literally kicking cancer’s ass right now and that’s more fun to talk about.

Also shoutout to everyone to made me smile while I was in here — your support means the world. <3
